What each store won't accept
Google Play
Google doesn't allow store art that claims a ranking or award, shows a price or deal, or looks like a Google Play label. Examples from Google's own pages: "#1", "Best of Play", "App of the year", "10% off", "Editor's choice", "New". On the feature graphic, Google also lists "Best", "#1", "Free" and "Million Downloads", and doesn't allow device pictures, store badges or other brands' logos. Screenshot captions should cover 20% of the image or less.

App Store
Screenshots should show your app in use, not just title art or a splash screen. No prices or claims you can't back up. Everything should suit ages 4 and up. "For Kids" and "For Children" are only for the Kids category. No transparency.

Steam
Capsules show only your game's art, name and official subtitle. No scores, awards, sale text, "Wishlist now" or dates. The library hero has no text at all.

Questions
Can I write "Free" on my Google Play feature graphic?
No. Google lists "Free" among the words not to use on the feature graphic.
Can I write "New update" on my art?
On Google Play, "New" can look like a Google Play label, so leave it out. On Steam, text about new content is only allowed through a time-limited Artwork Override.
Does this check my image for text automatically?
No. Type the words that are on your image and we check them.
Will passing this check mean the store accepts my art?
Not always. The checker covers the rules we can test. The store reviews your listing and makes the final call.
Does my image get uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
